Anti-Skino Festival: A Sustainable Event (Pyrgos, Cyprus)

Omnia supported the Anti-Skino festival by providing valuable consultancy services for the reduction of the environmental and carbon footprint footprint. All data will be collected and analyzed before implementing hands-on sustainable practices to counterbalance the footprint.

This has been the first year to work with the Anti-Skino team and we look forward for an ongoing collaboration for the benefit of the environment, the society and the culture of our beautiful country.

What is Anti-Skino?

The ANTI-SKINO, Outdoor Theatre and Performing Arts Festival was launched in 2017 by a group of artists in collaboration with the young people of Kato Pyrgos, Tilliria and with the support of the Community Council of the village. An excellent collaboration of several years which continues to this day with vision and enthusiasm. It is unique and the first and only festival of its kind to be organized in Cyprus. It all began in August 2017, with theater lovers and non-theater lovers, visiting campers and residents of the Tilliria area experiencing two uniquely exciting days at the Community Park of Kato Pyrgos and from since then the Festival has been growing and evolving.

The Festival has always sought to decentralise theatre performances from urban centres. A large number of theatrical performances are taken to the countryside, giving the opportunity to rural residents and residents of other regions and urban centres to experience theatre in nature. From the very beginning the organizers’ goal was to establish the festival as an institution of fruitful interaction between nature-artist-audience something that has been successfully achieved. And all this is due to the participation of a talented group of artists who love the arts and are willing to provide beautiful experiences through the activities of the festival. The unique experience of ANTI-SKINO, with the theatrical experience unfolding by the sea from morning until late at night, thrills the audience who have the opportunity to participate in an original and beyond expectations event. In one of the most beautiful places of the island, theatrical performances, workshops, open discussions, standup comedy, innovative ideas and actions, monologues, performances, presentations, are staged, instead of in the theatre venues, under the dew of the eucalyptus trees.
