CAPS Alliance: Partner's Meeting (Virtual)
A first online meeting was held for the new project “CAPS Alliance: Climate-Smart Agripreneurship Partnership for Sustainability”.
During the online meeting, the partner-organisations of the consortium presented their profile and areas of expertise. Moreover, a project overview was presented by the project’s coordinator to the rest of the partnership. Finally, the details for the next face-to-face meeting in Naples were discussed. Omnia, as well as the rest of the partners, expressed their eagerness to collaborate with all organisations from Africa and Europe, towards the successful implementation of such an innovative European project.
The project aims to explore the concept and practices related to the Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA), an approach promoted by the FAO, starting in 2010, to create favorable technical, policy and investment conditions for sustainable agricultural development that addresses climate change issues while ensuring food security.
In order to address unemployment and the effects of climate change on agriculture in Sub-Saharan Africa, the project also aims to support the exchange of information and best practices between European and Sub-Saharan African actors working in the agricultural field regarding the best and innovative techniques related to climate-smart agriculture and agripreneurship so as to tighter links between the third countries not associated to the Programme VET system and its labour market.
