JOB-U
Job Integration of Young People with Mental Health Issues
The main objective of JOB-U is to raise awareness among employers and the general public about the challenges faced by young people with mental health issues in finding and maintaining employment. It further aims to provide support and resources to young people with mental health issues to help them prepare for and find employment, as well as to encourage employers to adopt inclusive policies and practices that support the job integration.
Throughout the implementation of the project, JOB-U will have these objectives:
Promoting Mental Wellbeing
By raising awareness about the challenges faced by young people with mental health issues and providing support, the initiative contributes to promoting mental wellbeing among young people. It addresses the stigmatization of mental health issues, as recognized in the European Union Youth Strategy 2019-2027.
Social and Economic Inclusion
The objectives directly align with the goal of social and economic inclusion of young people with mental health issues. Providing resources and support for employment helps these individuals to be economically self-sufficient and socially integrated.
Inclusive Employment Practices
Encouraging employers to adopt inclusive policies and practices supports the broader goal of creating inclusive workplaces. This aligns with the priority of fostering an inclusive society where young people with mental health issues are not excluded from the labor market.
Reducing Stigma and Discrimination
The awareness-raising campaigns directly address the priority of reducing stigma and discrimination against young people with mental health issues. By changing public perceptions and employer attitudes, it contributes to a more inclusive and accepting society
