Maria-Stella Zeaki
Communication & Media Manager
Maria-Stella holds a ΒΑ in Communication and Media Studies (National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece) with a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY, Greece). She pursued her MA in Folk Culture and Folklore Studies (University of Athens) to delve into traditional communities and collective identities. Her PhD research (University of Crete) combines both scientific fields and explores the digital transformation of rural areas and online communities through the Anthropology of Social Media and Digital Ethnography. She was selected as a doctoral scholar by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (ELIDEK). Maria-Stella has collaborated with the Attica Region, the Region of Crete, the National Centre for Social Research (Greece), the University of Crete, development companies, and municipalities throughout Greece in the field of communication & dissemination management for EU and local projects.
Her fields of interest include among others leveraging folk culture in place branding, e-reputation for small businesses, cultural practices for smart cities, and digital literacy. She teaches marketing and communications courses to undergraduate students and conducts Media Storytelling seminars for companies and nonprofit organizations.
