Meteorological Stations: Maintenance
Our team performed maintenance on our extensive network of meteorological stations throughout Cyprus.
In partnership with the Benaki Phytopathological Institute and Zambartas Wines, we are leading the way in agricultural innovation. By gathering precise in-field data, leveraging state-of-the-art technology, and utilizing spatial imagery, we are at the forefront of reshaping the future of vineyard management through our smart agricultural solutions.

The use of meteorological stations and data analysis significantly benefits Cyprus vineyards by proving the farmers with valuable insights and tools to optimize vineyard management practices, enhance grape quality, and sustainably produce high-quality wines in a changing climate. In more details the farmers can monitor the following:
Climate Monitoring
Meteorological stations provide real-time data on temperature, humidity, rainfall, and wind speed, allowing vineyard managers to monitor climate conditions throughout the growing season. This data helps in understanding the microclimates within the vineyard and identifying areas with specific climate challenges.
Optimized Irrigation
By analyzing meteorological data, vineyard managers determine precise irrigation schedules based on actual weather conditions rather than relying on fixed timetables. This ensures that vines receive the appropriate amount of water, leading to improved water efficiency and healthier vine growth.
Disease Prevention
Meteorological data predict favorable conditions for diseases such as mildew and botrytis. By monitoring temperature, humidity, and rainfall patterns, vineyard farmers and managers implement timely disease prevention measures such as fungicide applications or canopy management to minimize the risk of infections.
Harvest Timing
Data analysis assist in predicting optimal harvest timing by monitoring temperature trends and tracking the accumulation of heat units (degree days). This information allows vineyard managers to harvest grapes at the peak of ripeness, ensuring optimal flavor development and quality in the resulting wines.
Climate Change Adaptation
With climate change affecting growing conditions, meteorological data analysis helps vineyard managers adapt their practices accordingly. By tracking long-term climate trends and extreme weather events, vineyard managers make informed decisions about vineyard management practices, grape varieties, and vineyard location to mitigate the impact of climate change on vineyard productivity and wine quality.
