My Farm: Partners’ Meeting (Napoli, Italy)
The partners of the MY FARM project have met in person in Napoli, Italy on the 8th – 9th April 2024, to discuss the effective development of the initiative.
The project highlights the evolving landscape of food security, climate change, and sustainability, influencing consumer choices and driving policy agendas. This transformation is attracting entrepreneurs and technology experts to the Agrifood sector, where digitalization and new technologies are reshaping agricultural philosophy.
Multifunctionality, emphasizing agriculture's broader social functions beyond food production, is seen as a proactive development tool for sustainability. It fosters symbiotic relationships between agricultural holdings and local communities, offering opportunities for additional income and employment. Developing multifunctionality at the agricultural unit level enhances survival prospects and economic diversification, contributing to reshaping rural resources. The emergence of new technologies underscores the need for education and training to prepare future generations for upcoming challenges and enhance the sector's attractiveness amidst generational turnover.
