Y-EDCO
Youth EDucation on responsible use of plastics for Cleaner Oceans and waterways
Y-EDCO aims to raise awareness among young people about plastic pollution in inland and ocean waters, as well as the broader challenges of environmental sustainability. By developing enhanced training materials that incorporate innovative technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR), we aim to engage youth in an interactive and impactful learning experience.
Y-EDCO's goal is to equip young people with essential digital skills and a deep understanding of sustainable practices, fostering active citizenship, environmental responsibility, and entrepreneurial thinking. This initiative also supports youth employability by opening pathways toward green jobs and contributing to the EU’s broader environmental objectives.
As part of the project, it will be developed an AR-enhanced curriculum and a series of modular training resources focused on the issue of microplastic pollution. These will be made available through a multilingual digital platform, ensuring broad access and usability across Europe.
The core objectives are to:
- Raise awareness and encourage sustainable behaviors among youth
- Strengthen digital competencies to improve employability
- Cultivate active citizenship and social responsibility
