ALTER TOURS: 2nd Transnational Partners Meeting in Slovenia
The ALTER TOURS project, held its second Transnational Partners Meeting on November 5-6, 2024. Hosted by Razvojna agencija Sotla in the scenic town of Rogaška Slatina, Slovenia, the meeting brought together representatives from all consortium partners, namely Razvojna agencija Sotla (Slovenia), ESCE (France), Omnia (Cyprus), the Cyprus Certification Company, the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (Greece), and Balkania – the Balkan Association for Alternative Tourism (North Macedonia).
The meeting was primarily dedicated to designing and planning the future activities of the project, including the Certification Scheme for Tourist Guides and Agents and the Validation System for Examiners. Along these preparatory activities, the partnership of the project prepared for the implementation of training activities, such as the Transnational Training for Examiners, which will take place in Cyprus in May 2025 and the National Trainings for Tourist Guides and Agents in each consortium country.
As an added value to this project meeting, the ALTER TOURS partners had the opportunity to visit local businesses from Rogaška Slatina and other areas within the region and learn from their practices in the promotion of cultural heritage and community engagement through sustainable tourism.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all partners to pursue innovative, regionally adaptive strategies that balance tourism growth with environmental and social stewardship.
